Paul W. Santoro, MS, CRNA
President
Paul, President and Chief Executive Officer of ASC, is both a passionate healthcare professional and an effective business leader. As the founder of ASC, Paul has steadily watched his organization grow into a foremost provider of anesthesia services, delivering outstanding service and real economic value to their customers. Paul's unparalleled commitment to the care and success of others continues to be paramount in creating the strategic edge that separates ASC from its competitors. Paul has extensive clinical and managerial experience in hospitals throughout Michigan. For over twenty years, he has worked in anesthesia leadership in all kinds of medical facilities, both big and small. Paul has also served as Treasurer of the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists and President of the Michigan Association of Nurse Anesthetists. He was also a recipient of the 2007 Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year award. Paul has been fortunate enough to balance these great successes by spending time with his family, fishing, and golfing.

Jim Scarsella, CRNA, MSF, MBA
Chief Financial Officer
Jim is the Chief Financial Officer for ASC and has been with the organization since 2004. Aside from being a CRNA for over twenty years, Jim holds a Masters in Corporate Finance and a Masters of Business Administration concentrated in Healthcare Administration. Prior to coming to ASC he held various leadership positions in several large health systems. As well as managing the day-to-day financial functions of the company, Jim shares his organizational knowledge by writing, lecturing and consulting on anesthesia practice management, billing and reimbursement topics. In his free time Jim enjoys time with his wife and two daughters, and is an avid woodworker and chess player. |
Craig Bohnhoff, MD
Chief Medical Officer
As the Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Bohnhoff assists in standardizing clinical best practices and quality improvement efforts across the organization. Before working for ASC, Dr. Bohnhoff was the president of Advanced Anesthesia Associates. Dr. Bohnhoff attended medical school at the Medical College of Ohio, completed his residency in anesthesiology at the University of Michigan Health System, is Board Certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology and a member of the Michigan and American Association of Anesthesiologists. In his free time, he enjoys fishing, gardening, and growing giant pumpkins for competition. |
Katie Leeds-Miner, MAC
Director of Business Operations
Katie joined the ASC team in February, 2002 as one of the first administrative staff members. As the business grew and evolved, Katie held various positions and developed skills in all aspects of the company. She currently functions as the Director of Business Operations where she is responsible for managing the entire team of office administrators. She continues to further her education, as she has just completed a Masters of Accountancy Degree. Before working for ASC, Katie received a Bachelors degree from Oakland University and gained administrative experience in the after-market automotive industry. In her free time, she enjoys traveling and spending time with family and friends. |
Jeffrey Sinkovich, MSN, CRNA
Practice Director
Jeff came to ASC seeking to make a difference by being involved in private practice. His work experience originates from two major healthcare systems and several years of locums staffing at over twenty facilities. This unique background gave Jeff solid experience in customer service, billing, and practice issues. Now, in his role as Practice Director Jeff provides leadership over CRNA services and acts as liaison to administrators and physicians for several facility clients of ASC. Outside of work, Jeff enjoys vacationing with his wife and three children, playing the violin, and golfing. |
Timothy Marx, MS, CRNA
Practice Director
As an ASC Practice Director, Tim provides leadership and managerial support for several ASC facilities. Prior to his administrative position with the company, Tim had over 10 years of experience providing clinical services for ASC. Before working with ASC, Tim held the position of CRNA Clinical Coordinator at William Beaumont Hospital. He is also a recipient of the Guiding Light Award from the Michigan Association of Nurse Anesthesia Students and prides himself on his commitment to the profession. Tim likes to ski, golf, play the guitar, fish and spend time with his family. |
Nicholas Crofut, CRNA, MSN, BSN
Practice Director
Since joining ASC's team in 2006, Nick has become the Practice Director overseeing the Lansing area. Before working for ASC, Nick was the charge CRNA at Ingham Hospital, and has worked as a nurse in various trauma, neurology, and transplant intensive care units. Nick graduated with honors from the Medical University of South Carolina and has received the Agatha Hodgins Memorial Award as a CRNA student. Nick's most recent project involves introducing ultrasound regional blocks to Lansing ambulatory surgery centers. From time to time, Nick also manages to relax by golfing, fishing and hiking. |
Dr Jerry O'Brien, D.O.
Medical Director of Anesthesia, Lansing
Dr. Jerry O’Brien is on the medical staff and chairman for the Department of Anesthesiology at Metropolitan Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He graduated from Michigan State University with a BA in Psychology, and attended medical school at Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his residency in anesthesiology at Metropolitan Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He is Board Certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Anesthesiology, is a current member of the American Osteopathic Association, the American Society of Anesthesiologists, the Michigan Osteopathic Association, and the American Osteopathic College of Anesthesiologists. In his free time, Dr. O’Brien enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters, golf, nature walks through Roselle Park with his dog, biking, and Michigan State basketball. |
